Easy going, thoughtful, positive, loyal, supportive, hard working, busy, content

All sorts really depending on my mood. Often listen to the radio just so I listen to a mix and discover new tunes! I've been to the Milton Keynes Bowl to see Eminem and Green Day - venue is great. Have also been to see Take That and Westlife in my younger days!!

I love just catching up with my friends and their families - over a coffee/glass of wine, lunch/dinner, a long walk or just on the phone. I like ‘mooching’ around little boutique shops, card shops and can spend a good chunk of time browsing in Borders. I enjoy looking at and taking photos, especially of people – I have lots of photo albums!! I’ve just bought a new digital camera after stubbornly staying loyal to my old SLR until my 3 year old niece got upset that she couldn’t instantly view the picture I’d taken of her on the back of the camera (she was so confused!). Talking of which… I love seeing my little niece and nephews, they make me laugh-out-loud. I don’t cook often or especially well but like to invite people round for the evening and entertain – after all, ‘staying in’ is the new ‘going out’ and M&S do great party food!! I also like to have a big night out every now and then, even if its just to remind myself that no matter how much water you drink before you go to bed – you can’t avoid the hangover the next day (some people call this binge drinking).

I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with some very talented people and travel a fair bit. I did ‘drop out’ for a few years, getting out of the London Rat Race, and now take time to appreciate things much more than perhaps I did in my 20s. I have a challenging job and I work relatively hard, but enjoy my working day and like the people I work with (what more do you need?). I commute to London everyday at the moment (I know... I got a bit bored being out of that Rat Race). It isn’t as bad as it sounds, I quite like the contrast between my work life and my home life and it means by the time I do get home, work is far behind me (literally). I admire anyone who works for themselves and aspire to do the same one day. I’ve lived in London (for about 10 years), Sydney and ‘sunny’ Swindon and travelled extensively for work and for pleasure. Some favourite places abroad are Buenos Aires (if I spoke Spanish I would live there), Cape Town’s Camps Bay, Hong Kong - a restaurant called Aqua on Kowloon in particular, Manhattan NYC and Sydney’s sandy beaches. Closer to home… anywhere hanging out with my friends really, usually my kitchen… lots of places along the South Bank in London, long walks and cosy country pubs in & around the Cotswolds, the promenade in Brighton & Hove, Sefton Park in Liverpool, Selfridges on Oxford Street and Borders on a Sunday. My friends & family are scattered all over the country and in far flung places around the world and I like to make time to visit them. I am always looking for new places to top the ‘hot spot’ list and people to enjoy them with. I believe that every bit of my past (good and sometimes not so great) has shaped the person that I am today and I am content with being me. I’d like to believe that what is meant for you won’t go by you, but I think this also requires some effort and positive thinking just to make absolutely sure! I don’t really have a ‘type’ and have no preconceptions of my ideal person. I know from experience that its sometimes the most unlikely candidates who, by stealth, find their way into your heart. I do believe you need to have a ‘connection’ with someone, I suppose that’s the chemistry bit, and know it’s a rare but all encompassing thing. It’s this connection which brings out the best in each of you and that’s the key I think, that you are a ‘better’ person for being with that person than without them. I guess I’m looking for someone who can enhance my life and who brings a new dimension to it, different life experiences and alternative paths and opportunities… I’ll know what I’m looking for when I find it!
