a good friend, unconventional (in an unconventional sort of way), honest (guv), reliable, intellectual (highly analytical), libertarian, intuitive (that thing that only woman are supposed to have), practical; diverse interests, roughly in order: people (friends come first), ideas (philosophical, political, ...), literature (from Tolstoi to Ann Michaels), language, music (most varieties from Bach to Brubeck via Tori Amos - just not heavy metal or techno), cinema (art movies, especially French, such as Jean de Florette or Le Hussard sur Le Toit - and, more recently, Amelie), travel (lived or spent time in NZ, India, Iran, USA, ...), science (how things, including us, tick).... not much interested in sport, but do enough exercise to stay fit. self-employed, so have a flexible lifestyle. live in Cambridge; often in London.
