Dear Lynn,

I was with a guy 7 years and we split up a year ago , over the last few weeks we started to get close and he was telling me he missed me and loved me and I was all he could think about , then on thursday this week he came to see me to tell me he was now with a girl who is 21 , note he is 43 , and they are really happy and have been together for 3 months now, I'm starting to think that the right guy for me is not out there cause everytime I met one they just cheat or use me for one thing.. I want to find some one who will want to be with only me and just to have a genuine guy . will I ever be happy or am I doomed to me on my own forever ?

Hi. OK first off let’s look at the facts. Your ex-partner of 7 years has been telling you that he misses you, loves you, can only think about you, then in the next breath tells you he has been seeing someone else that is 22 years his junior and that they are very happy together. I don't think this chap sounds like the "right guy" for anyone so count your lucky stars that you didn't end up back with him. Sounds like you have just had a very bad experience with someone and your self esteem has suffered.
Unfortunately there are never any guarantees that any relationship will work. Just because previous relationships haven’t worked doesn’t mean that future ones won’t. Good luck

You was with him for 7 years...if he hung around that long then there aint that much wrong with you. If he can say that he misses you, loves you and then say that he's really happy with this other girl, then it's obvious that there's only room for him in his world. The 'trophy' 21 year old will either go the same way as you, or she will dump him, if she does, dont let him crawl back to you.

Dust yourself down and start again.
