Apparently it was a Mallard and they can survive in salt water as long as they return to fresh water to rinse the salt from their feathers. Fat Lot of good you lot were, I had to find it out for myself !

Went for a walk down the beach tis evening, was lovely. Sea was calm and the sun was setting. Saw a duck and three ducklings in the water close to the shore. Now I have lived in Cornwall all my life and never seen a duck in salt water ! Was the poor thing lost or ius there a species I dont know about? Any ideas?

A little touch of paradise yesterday, the Eden Project looks and smells amazing , with over one millions spring bulbs in bloom. The weather was lovely and I remembered one of the reasons why I choose to stay here in Cornwall. Have discovered that my knight in shining armour has fallen off hishorse on the way to me, it galloped by riderless again yesterday!

CAt turned out to be fine, didnt even need the vet, apart fromthe fact it still stinks of TCP (what is it with that stuff?) Will be glad when kids get back to school been patching up scuffed knees, jammed fingers in doors and drooled on at various times, will be nice to get down to some serious job hunting.
