omg if i could sleep anymore it would just take over my whole day. I have diabetes and a under active thyroid, and this is why. Does anyone else have this problem, cos its driving me maddddddddddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I know exactly how you feel as I'm sitting here without a scrap of energy and it's a rotten feeling.My whole family are diabetic but they don't suffer with insomnia, yet I'm only borderline and have suffered for years with this. I've begged the doctor for help and like the other message got none !I've even been tempted to buy sleeping pills off the internet.I do hope you find something as the problem does lead to illnesses that are hard to shake off, the worst being depression. Yes, I have an under active thyroid, was diagnosed 20yrs ago and have struggled to get the right help ever since. Don't rely on the NHS to be of any use. The national average reading that the NHS HAS to go by is between 9 and 19 and if your blood test shows you are within this perameter they say you are okay when you actually feel like shit and sleep all day. I went and had private blood tests taken which you can do off your own back and don't need a referral from a doctor. I found that I operate at 22.5 and at last have a life. I manage my own treatment, I now take 150mg of Thyroxin and feel great. You have to manage your own body, it's yours so get to know what works for you and then tell your doctor how it has to be. I also see a private consultant who is not afraid to give you what you need because they do not have the same guidelines as the NHS who are useless and don't seem to understand how to judge their patients. Also with Under Active thyroid (hypothyrodism) your Adrenal function could be depleted and would need to be looked at in order for it to absorb thyroxin. Go on the internet and look up Hypothyroidism and take it from there. Good luck.

Can`t kids be really nasty. I could have cried for my 9 year old this morning. Her so called best mate blanked her and she looked heartbroken. When she asked what she had done, she said "NOTHING", and turned away. Poor little girl i can`t stop thinking about her today :o(
